Users & Roles

Invite team members, assign roles, and create custom roles for your organization.

The Users & Roles page controls who can access your Virbe workspace and what permissions they have. It is split into three tabs: Dashboard Users, Service Accounts, and Roles.

Dashboard Users

Dashboard Users are the people on your team who log in to the Virbe Dashboard.

Inviting a user

  1. Go to Settings → Users & Roles → Dashboard Users
  2. Click + Invite users in Virbe Hub – you'll be redirected to Virbe Hub to invite users; only organization admin or owner can invite users
  3. Enter the user's email address
  4. Click Send invite

The invited user receives an email with a link to set up their account. Until they accept, they appear as Pending in the user list.

Managing existing users

From the user list in Dashboard settings, you can:

  • Change role – update a user's permissions at any time
  • Assign API keys – assign API keys for this user

Roles

Roles define what a user can see and do in the Dashboard. Virbe ships with built-in roles, and Owners and Admins can create custom roles.

Custom roles

If the built-in roles don't match your team's structure, create a custom role:

  1. Go to Settings → Users & Roles → Roles
  2. Click + Create role
  3. Enter a role name and optional description
  4. Toggle individual permissions on or off using the permission matrix
  5. Click Save

Custom roles appear alongside built-in roles in the invite flow and can be assigned to any user.

Permission categories

Custom role permissions are organised by area:
