Integration Nodes

Integration nodes connect a conversation to external systems – HTTP webhooks, custom server-side actions, and Automations.

Connecting External Systems

These are the nodes to reach for whenever a conversation needs to touch something outside Virbe – a CRM, an inventory system, an internal tool – or hand off background work so the user-facing turn isn't held up waiting on it.

Nodes in This Category

NodeDescription
Call WebhookMake an HTTP request to an external URL during a conversation. Pass data out, receive data back, and use the response downstream.
Custom ActionTrigger a named client-side event in the touchpoint SDK (Web, Unreal, Unity) that your developers listen to and react to.
Trigger AutomationFire an Automation flow from within a Conversational Flow or Handler, running background tasks without interrupting the conversation.

Choosing an Integration Node

Use Call Webhook for straightforward HTTP requests to any external API. Use Custom Action to trigger client-side effects in the touchpoint itself – UI changes on the embedding website, or 3D scene manipulation in an Unreal/Unity kiosk. Use Trigger Automation when the work doesn't need to block the current conversation turn – for example, logging an event, sending a notification, or kicking off a follow-up process.
