Preprocessing Nodes

Preprocessing nodes are exclusive to Handlers. They control how events are processed before being passed to Conversational Flows.

Handler-Exclusive Nodes

This category contains nodes that are exclusive for Handler flows. They may fall in different groupings of nodes, e.g. Exit or Context nodes. Because these nodes run before a Conversational Flow is even chosen, they're the right place for setup work that should happen on every turn regardless of which flow eventually handles it – detecting the input language, or deciding whether to activate a flow at all.

Every Handler must eventually reach either Continue Processing (to pass control to Conversational Flows) or Abandon Processing (to drop the event entirely).
