Action Nodes
Action nodes present interactive elements to the user or collect data – buttons, cards, typed input, delays, and embedded web views.
Interactive UI Elements
Where a Text or LLM Response node only sends words, action nodes render UI the user can tap, type into, or interact with directly – and several of them (Collect User Data, Cards from Table/Variable) write what the user does back into a variable for later use.
Nodes in This Category
| Node | Description | Available In |
|---|---|---|
| Quick Reply | Show the user tappable reply buttons. When tapped, the label is sent as their message and the buttons disappear. | Flows |
| Collect User Data | Prompt the user for a specific piece of information and store their response in a variable for later use. | Flows |
| UI Cards | Display custom visual cards – ideal for menus, feature highlights, or structured content. | Flows |
| Cards from Table | Display a set of UI Cards generated dynamically from rows in a Knowledge Base Table document. | Flows |
| Cards from Variable | Display cards sourced from a variable – useful when card content is generated dynamically by AI or a previous node. | Flows |
| Open Web View | Open a URL in an embedded web view within the chat widget, letting users interact with external content inline. | Flows |
| Delay | Pause flow execution for a specified duration before continuing to the next node. | Flows |
Static vs. Dynamic Cards
UI Cards is for hand-authored, fixed card content. Cards from Table and Cards from Variable generate cards dynamically – from Knowledge Base Table rows or from a variable populated by an earlier node (such as an LLM or webhook response) – making them the right choice whenever card content needs to change based on data rather than being fixed at design time.
