Flow Control Nodes
Flow control nodes manage how execution moves between flows – redirecting, pausing, checkpointing, and ending flows or conversations.
Directing Flow Execution
Unlike Response or Action nodes, flow control nodes never touch what the user sees – they only affect the mechanics of execution: where it goes next, when it pauses, and when it stops.

| Go to Flow | Redirect execution to another Conversational Flow. Supports an optional flow stack reset for one-way navigation. | Flows |
| Checkpoint | Mark a point in a flow that the conversation can return to on the next user turn, resuming from that exact position. | Flows |
| End Flow | Stop the current flow and return control to the caller – the flow that used Go to Flow to enter this one. | Flows |
| End Conversation | Explicitly terminate the conversation session, triggering the End Conversation automation and the On conversation-stop handler. | Flows |
Flow Stack Basics
Conversational Flows can call one another via Go to Flow (or, from a Handler, Activate Flow). Each call pushes the target flow onto a flow stack – a record of "return points." The stack is what lets the pipeline remember that, at some point, execution jumped from one flow into another, so it knows exactly where to resume once that flow is done.
- Without a stack reset – each
Go to Flowcall adds an entry to the stack. When the current flow ends (via End Flow), control pops back to the calling flow at the exact point it jumped from. This is what enables nested, reusable sub-flows. - With a stack reset (the
Reset Flow Stacktoggle, available on bothGo to FlowandActivate Flow) – the stack is cleared before the target flow is activated. When that flow ends, there is nothing left to return to, so the conversation simply waits for the next user input, as if starting fresh from that point. This is one-way navigation.
Checkpoint and Wait for Next Turn don't affect the stack – they control when and where execution resumes on the next user turn.
