Accept Language Change

Commits a pending STT-detected language change, switching the virtual being to the newly detected language.

The Accept Language Change node commits a language change that has been detected by the STT engine and is currently pending. When this node runs, the virtual being switches to the newly detected language for all subsequent speech recognition and text-to-speech.

Available in: Handlers and Conversation Flows.

When to Use

Use Accept Language Change in the On Language Change Handler to approve language switches detected by the STT engine.

If you want the virtual being to automatically follow the user's language:

On Language Change ──► Accept Language Change ──► Continue Processing

Behavior

  • The pending language change is committed
  • All subsequent STT recognition uses the new language
  • All subsequent TTS speech uses the voice configured for the new language in the Persona
